Stress Messes with my Dreams

I noticed lately that my stress level affects the quality of my dreams. Or it could be that Dr. Eggleston brought it up and I realized that this applied to me. Anyway, I've had a lot on my plate lately and was under a little stress, which is why it took a little while to put up this post. The dreams I was having were not clear. I would wake up and realize my dream was real hazy, and I would not feel rested. It seems like I'm through with the little mini storm so hopefully my dreaming will return to normal. It would be real hard to do this project if not.
I do have some good news to report. Before I was under all this stress I had some dreams, and one that I think might be a problem solving dream.

Dream 5
There was a brief cold spell. Every year when it first gets cold a have a period where I cough a lot. Cold air just always made my lungs hurt. It also makes me have headaches. Well one night during this cold spell I woke up coughing real bad and took a while to get back to sleep. When I did fall a sleep I dreamt that I was in the doctor's office for my cough. The doctor stuck a Qtip in my ears and said there is your problem. When I woke up I thought about it. First, the ears are connected to the throat and all that. Also, sometimes when I use a Qtip to my ears and go to far it makes my throat hurt and I start coughing. So my ears transfer their aggitation to my throat. Also when it gets cold I sometimes get earaches. Now what I think I am going to do is cover my ears when it gets cold. Unfortunately and fortunately the weather warmed up before I could test whether my dream was right. But I read a couple of times of people learning what was wrong with their bodies through a dream. If this is a solution it would benefit me for the rest of my life until a move somewhere with warm winters.

Dream 6
In this dream a giant crocodile or komoto dragon type thing was bighting down on my left hand. So I beat it senseless with my right hand. I do not know any meaning from this dream. Though, I enjoy that I do much better against my adversaries in my dreams now than when I was younger. Maybe this means that I am a more confident person.

Dream 7
This is probably the worst dream I had since starting this project. I was real cold the whole dream. I was going to wrestling practice in the dream, and had to drive through a lot of crazy traffic to some weird place to get there and was late. Then this friend that I have, who is not a wrestler, started to play fight with me. For some reason I started beating him up and really hurt him. This was the only dream I had during my high stress period that was clear enough to write down, and I did not like any of it.

Start of Psychology Change of Behavior Assignment

The behavior that I want to change for my psychology project is I want to utilize my dreams more. Supposedly, dreams can give insights, help decisions, and solve problems. I feel like I have been wasting my dreams, especially considering I usually wake up remembering them. Therefore I am going to start recording them and try to determine what they mean. Hopefully I will see a difference.
In this post I am going to write down the last four dreams that I remember. From here on I will number all of my dreams so that I can refer back to them in later posts.

Dream 1:
A girl that I had liked for a while who recently moved away came back to visit in this dream. She seemed to be annoyed at my presence and also had a boyfriend. I think the message of this dream is that it is time to move on. I am sad though that I could not muster up the courage to act on my feelings when I had the chance.

Dream 2:
I am eating in the school cafeteria and people keep messing with my food. Finally someone that I know takes my apple and I fight him for it. While I am fighting someone steals my car keys and replaces them with their own. They drive my car somewhere and I go looking for them. I yell for them, and they yell back. I use their car, which happens to be a Farari in the dream but not in real life, to drive where they are and get my car back. I can not figure out the meaning of this dream. I do not have any reason to be dreaming about the first person. The second was my first roommate in college. This was probably a dream that did not mean anything.

Dream 3:
I kept having a lot of places to drive to and I kept hitting things with my car, which was doing damage to my car. My breaks were hardly working, and I destroyed my keys by turning a weird knob on the other side of the steering wheel. The second part of this dream was me sitting on the sideline in a football game. I got in around the end of the game, and was playing very well. One weird thing about the game was it was played in larger version of the back yard of my old house. In fact, I caught a pass only because a tree deflected the ball my way. The first part of my dream reminded me of when I was little and kept dreaming of my teeth falling out or getting chipped. In highschool they actually did chip pretty bad. Now this is two dreams in a row where something happened to my car. I hope this is not a prophetic dream. The second part of the dream was me probably just thinking about an upcoming game that I am going to dress in but probably not play. It was at my old house just because dreams are weird like that.

Dream 4
This dream is not very vivid. My football coaches were going over hard math problems.
This is probably just because I was working on some hard math before I went to bed and maybe thinking about football as well. On the subject of math problems: when I was thinking about doing this project earlier in the week, I had some hard math homework. I got to the last problem and could not figure it out so I tried to dream the answer and failed. Maybe if I actually thought about the problem more before I went to bed.
